Bridges & Trestles...

Bridges and trestles are just in the beginning of development. It takes considerable time and effort to create a new bridge or trestle model. All of our bridges & trestles are designed using common engineering standards of the time. They are designed to replicate the work of the early years of the railroads.

We use select grades of kiln dried Western Red Cedar and Cypress materials. Both are resistant to rot and insects. These where the woods of choice by the early railroads locally and in many parts of the US because they where so abundant.

All joining is done with Tightbond II cement that is both strong and weather resistant. Truss rods and hardware is all unfinished solid brass.

Our bridges & trestles are not treated in any way but we do recommend that you apply a couple coats of weatherproof finish to extend the life of your new bridge.

We currently have several different bridges available for delivery. The different styles of these bridges come in several sizes to suite your needs. All of our bridges are build to order for you so they can be easily modified to fit your needs.
